Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh – APA. Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov on Thursday met with Turkey’s Minister of National Defense Ismet Yilmaz in Tbilisi.
The ministers during the meeting discussed issues of military cooperation and development prospects of political, economic and cultural relations between the Azerbaijani and Turkish defense ministries, APA’s Georgia bureau reported.
The sides also exchanged ideas on military cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing the necessity of holding discussions on the signing of a memorandum late this year.
Issues of regional security were also discussed. The ministers stressed the importance of bilateral and trilateral meetings to countries in the region.
At the end of the meeting, the defense ministers presented gifts to each other.
