Baku. 18 March. REPORT.AZ/ Volume of imported food products in Azerbaijan in January-February this year amounted to 220.9 million dollars, up 35.82% compared with the same period last year.
Report informs referring to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, the import of food products is 12.94% of total imports.Imports of wheat, which accounts for the major share of food imports increased by 2.1 times, amounting to 109.0 million dollars.This figure is equal to 6.39% of total imports.
During the reporting period, sugar imports fell by 49.1% to 13.7 million dollars, vegetable and animal fats and oils - by 7.17% to 17.3 million dollars.During the reporting period, an increase in imports of meat, butter, fruits and vegetables was observed.The volume of imports of meat increased by 2.5 times, amounting to 4.0 million dollars, milk - by 8.91% to 1.3 million dollars, butter - 65.57% to 4.9 million dollars fruits and vegetables - by 2.2 times, amounting to 11.8 million dollars.
