Strasbourg. Fuad Gulubeyli - APA. The PACE Monitoring Committee has today held a meeting as part of the spring session of the Assembly.

A Sub-Committee on conflicts going on in territories of the Council of Europe member states was created at the meeting, APA’s Europe bureau reported.

Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov addressed the meeting.

PACE Bureau has discussed various conflicts, and we would like these issues to be discussed within a special organization. Due to the aggressive policy of Armenia, Azerbaijan undergoes constant provocations although Armenian citizens and soldiers become tired of this conflict. I presented the photo, reflecting Armenian soldier’s voluntarily surrendering to Azerbaijan, to the participants of the Assembly. The Armenian soldier crossed into Azerbaijan saying that he doesn’t want to die, but to live. It proves that this conflict will be solved, if Armenians withdraw from the lands that don’t belong to them,” he noted.

S. Seyidov said that following his speech at the plenary session, a special sub-committee was created under the Monitoring Committee, and the Nagorno Karabakh conflict would be regularly discussed at the committee, along with other conflicts.

“The Armenian delegation tried again to cover up the issue and prevent its discussion. However, only three voted against the decision, two of them were members of the Armenian delegation. PACE will begin to discuss conflicts going on in the territories of member states, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the oldest and most terrible conflict,” he stressed.
