Baku. Agha Jafarli – APA. Member of the Founding Parliament organization, arrested in Armenia – Ashot Akopyan, Pavel Manukyan, Hereqin Chugaszyan, Qevorq Safaryan, Varuzhan Avetisyan and Zhirayr Sefilyana have been disallowed to listen to the radio or read the newspaper, a group monitoring conditions in isolators has said.
According to information, the arrested oppositionists do not even have the right to call up their families, APA cited Armenian sources.
Manukyan went on a hunger strike, calling the arrest illegal.
According to Armenia’s Special Investigation Committee, the detainees are convicted of planning to trigger unrest during events to be held on the anniversary of the “Armenian genocide” on April 24. They are also charged with the illegal storing of weapons, ammunition and explosives.
