Baku. Malahat Najafova - APA. “The Israeli-Azerbaijani relations are based on robust cooperation and mutual respect”, said Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafael Harpaz, APA reports.
He said that a number of high-level mutual visits have been made and many documents have been discussed in the past years: “We have great political and economic cooperation as well as the cooperation in the energy field. A large Jewish community exists in Azerbaijan. We have a lot of friends in Azerbaijan”.
The Ambassador said that both countries are interested in cooperation in the field of education as well. “We want Azerbaijani students to be educated in Israel. We are working in this regard. Israeli universities are interested in cooperating with Azerbaijan”, he said.
According to the diplomat, both countries strengthen the cooperation in the spheres of telecommunications, science, tourism, health and water technology. Mr. Harpaz added that a delegation of 160 people from Israel will attend the First European Olympic to be held in Azerbaijan.
