Baku-APA. Sen. Robert Menendez will step down from his post as ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee following public corruption charges from the Department of Justice, APA reports quoting The Washington Post.

In a letter addressed to Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, Mr. Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey wrote: “I am hereby notifying you that I am temporarily stepping down as Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. While there is no caucus rule that dictates that I do so, I believe it is in the best interests of the Committee, my colleagues, and the Senate which is why I have chosen to do so.”
