An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was recorded in eastern part of Kazakhstan on March 24, Kazakhstan's Seismological Expedition of the Science Committee under Education and Science Ministry reported.

The earthquake occurred at 05:15 a.m. local time (March, 23 11:15 p.m. Greenwich time), 360 kilometers to the north-east of the city of Almaty.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.
There was no information about possible victims or damage.
