Baku-APA. The officers were killed during the attack on the checkpoint al-Manar belonging to the Saudi Arabian Army that borders the Yemeni province Saada, the source stated Sunday, APA reports quoting local media.
In recent months Yemen witnessed a violent confrontation between the ethnic Houthi militant group and forces loyal to Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.
On March 26, a coalition headed by Saudi Arabia started carrying out airstrikes against Shiite Houthi rebels in Yemen, following a request for military assistance from Hadi.
Shiite Houthis have taken control of various parts of Yemen, including the capital Sanaa, forcing Hadi to leave Yemen for Saudi Arabia.
