Azerbaijani, Iranian border guard chiefs meet in Nakhchivan - PHOTOSESSION

Baku. Agha Jafarli - APA. The delegations led by Chief of the State Border Service, Colonel General Elchin Guliyev&t=xeber'>Elchin Guliyev and Commander of Iran's Border Troops, Major General Gasim Rzai hold a meeting in Nakhchivan on April 13, SBS press service told APA.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current situation on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border and border checkpoints, and its development trends, the enhancement of the cooperation in combat against drug trafficking, international terrorism, illegal migration, cross-border crimes and other issues of mutual interest.
The delegations noted the importance of changing operating duty of "Bilesuvar" border checkpoint to 24-hours and taking relevant measures to facilitating the movement of citizens across the state border in accordance with the agreements.
The issue of strengthening relations between border agencies in order to ensure security in the border state on the eve and during the first European Games was also discussed.
Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, received the Iranian delegation.
