Azerbaijani Ombudsperson presents annual report for 2014 to state agencies

Baku. Farid Mirzayev – APA. The annual report of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) for 2014 was sent on Wednesday to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and state agencies in compliance with the constitutional law.

The annual report "On the situation on the provision and protection of human rights and freedoms in Azerbaijan" for 2014 reflected the Ombudsperson’s activity in the restoration of human rights and freedoms violated by officials, state and local self-governing authorities, confirmed by the Constitution and international agreements supported by Azerbaijan, protection of human rights and prevention of violations, in ensuring human rights, and legal education and the results of scientific and analytical work, the Ombudsperson’s Office told APA.
 
Moreover, the Ombudsperson’s suggestions and recommendations for the better provision of collaboration with state agencies, the public and the media, international relations and human rights were included in the report.
 
The hearing on the annual report is scheduled to take place at the meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament on March 6.
