"Umid" Support to Social Development Public Unionhas made a statement with regard to the resolution on the so-called “Armenian genocide” adopted by the European Parliament.

The statement says:

We wish to express our regret the resolution on the so-called “Armenian genocide” adopted by the European Parliament on April 15. Itis the most shameful, unfair and politicized decision in the history of the European Parliament.

Such a step from the European Parliament is a vivid example of the double Standards.They openly defend Armenian interests and at the same time intend to unjustly get trampled Azerbaijan and Turkey by Armenia, at every opportunity. As a matter of fact, they fail in any way to recognize the events in Khojaly of 1992, when Armenian troops committed a genocide against an Azeri population. In addition, they ignore the occupation of Nagorno-Karabagh, the occupation of Kelbajar, Lachin, Zangelan, Agdam, Fuzuli, Jebrail, and Kubatli.Genocide committed by the Armenians against Azerbaijanis in Khojaly and violation of the rights of over a million people that were forced to flee their homes as a result of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in recent history. They failed to recognize this genocide!

Genocide is a crime against humanity, and every crime should be considered by the juridical instance.

We refuse their resolution, and will continue to demand that justice be served and truth restored completely.

Azerbaijan will never forget its martyrs, nor will it allow the world to forget the atrocities which were committed on its ground. Thousands of Azerbaijani men, women and children buried in the Alley of Martyrs in Baku will always be remembered!
